COVID-related evictions due to non-payment of rent are prohibited in accordance with the (current) CDC eviction moratorium through October 3, 2021 for properties located in counties experiencing “high” COVID transmission rates. Within Iowa, the majority of counties are subject to this eviction moratorium and in about a month, tenants may soon face the legal consequences resulting from their inability to pay rent during the COVID crisis.
