Fawn Miller, N.E.S.T. Harm Reduction & Consulting

Harm Reduction is a set of practical strategies, policies and ideas aimed at reducing the negative consequences of high risk behaviors. The most common risk behavior that Harm Reduction is associated with is substance use. This association has also made Harm Reduction into a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of every human being, including those who use drugs.

In this session attendees will learn about the history of Harm Reduction, philosophy of care, and practical skills to practice. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a scenario feedback session on how to apply the principles of Harm Reduction to your life, at home, at work, and every moment in between, working towards a culture built on support, community, and self-determination.
